Dutch Bangla Bank car robbery, Tk 11 crore looted in Uttara.

A Dutch Bangla Bank money vehicle was robbed in the Turag area of the capital’s Uttara. Allegations of robbery of Tk 11 crore 27 lakh have been made in this incident. The incident happened on Thursday (March 9). According to the police, a car robbery took place in the area adjacent to Bridge No. 11 of Uttara No. 16 of the capital. An armed gang looted money from it. The vehicle was going from Dhaka to Savar EPZ to deposit money at the booth. The bank authorities are claiming that there was Tk 11 crore 27 lakh in that car. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Turag Police Station Maudud Hawladar confirmed the matter. He said that the vehicle of a security company was going to deposit money at Dutch Bangla Bank booth in Savar EPZ. It had 11 crores and 27 lakhs of taka. The OC said an armed gang robbed it on the way. We have already received complaints about this. I immediately started the rescue operation.

Writ seeking direction to stop smoking and smoking in public ….. in the High Court.

A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking necessary instructions to stop smoking in public, spitting and urinating on roads and footpaths. Although there are various types of laws in the country, there is no specific law in this regard. Yesterday Thursday (9th March) this writ petition was filed by the Human Rights and Social Development Organization (MoSUS) in the concerned branch of the High Court. Chairman of the organization and Supreme Court lawyer. Md. Golam Rahman Bhuiyan filed this writ in public interest. The petitioner lawyer himself confirmed the matter to the media. Reports published in various media are attached to the writ. In this, the Secretary of the Ministry of Health, the Secretary of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Secretary of the Ministry of Welfare, the Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhaka North and South City Corporation, all the city corporations of the country including Chittagong, Sylhet Rajshahi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the chairman of BRTA are 23. The sale of TCB products started again.

Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will start selling products at affordable prices from Thursday (March 9) on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The government marketing agency said this in a press release on Wednesday. According to TCB’s press release, on the occasion of Holy Ramadan, the sale of TCB’s products at subsidized prices among one crore low-income beneficiary card-holding families across the country will be done in two phases. For this purpose, the first phase of the program will start from Thursday across the country including Dhaka city. According to the notification, this sales program will be conducted from the dealers’ shops or designated permanent establishments with the overall cooperation of the City Corporation, District and Upazila administration and according to the scheduled date and time plan. The card holder consumer can buy the products from the designated dealers during the first phase. It is informed that consumers can buy a maximum of one kg of sugar at the rate of Tk 60. Buyers can buy 2 kg of lentils at the rate of Tk 70, up to 2 liters of soybean oil at the rate of Tk 110 per liter, one kg of gram at the rate of Tk 50 and up to 1 kg of dates at the rate of Tk 100. However, it has been reported that dates will be sold only in Dhaka city.
